Terence Blanchard

Critically acclaimed jazz trumpeter-composer Terence Blanchardwill be part of the celebration/performance of the music of jazz greats Miles David and Gil Evans at the Hollywood Bowl tonight Aug. 5. He will performing with jazz trumpeter Nicholas Payton, drummer Jimmy Cobb, bassist Christian McBride, drummer Peter Erskine, conductor Vince Mendoza, and Howard Johnson under the direction of Miles Evans.

The New Orleans native's most recent album release in 2007, is "A Tale of God’s Will (A Requiem For Katrina)," a tribute to his hometown and its residents. He won the best jazz instrumental solo Grammy last year for "BeBop."
