Ramsey Lewis

Jazz pianist Ramsey Lewis has won three Grammys, scored seven gold records and cracked the national pop top 40 during his long and illustrious career. But, he just released his first album of original material "Songs From the Heart" and he's performing at the Disney Concert Hall Oct. 14.

Lewis had huge hits in the 1960s with instrumental covers of such pop tunes as "The In Crowd" and "Hang On Sloopy." On this video from the 1980s, he begins playing one of his hits, "In Crowd," but then morphes into a rather simple but impassioned blues.
