McCoy Tyner

Jazz piano legend McCoy Tyner performs at Royce Hall Thursday. Famous for his percussive left hand, Tyner was a member of John Coltrane's Quartet in the 1960s, along with Jimmy Garrison on bass and Elvin Jones on drums, and can be heard on such classic recordings as "Live at the Village Vanguard," "Ballads," and "A Love Supreme."

This video features Tyner with Gary Bartz on sax, Gerald Cannon on bass and Eric Kamau Gravatt on drums.
